Updates
February 1st, 2009: Updated the "Media" section to include more of my autographed photos, but I promise there are more to come. Interestingly enough, NO ONE ever replied to me about wanting to affiliate. Interesting.
Was approved for the Michael Penn fanlisting, and need to start working on that ASAP. I'm recovering from surgery at the moment, so it might take a while.
January 16th, 2009: Updated Music Of The Week, and added more media. Enjoy!
January 2nd, 2009: Finally updated the Music Of The Week. Since it's almost a new week, anyways, I'll just make it into next week's choices. Added an image in the media page. Am going to look for affiliates sometime this week, but something tells me that with college starting up again this coming week, I might not get the time.
December 22, 2008: Posted some MP3s in the media section. I will probably switch them out every week or so. I decided to have two albums in the "Music of the Week" section.

Red State Update - How Freedom Sounds
John's Rating: 4.1/5 stars
Jackie Broyles and Dunlap are at it again, but instead of another YouTube presidential debate, they're now on CD. While some of the content is rather crude, and even annoying at times, rest assured that the laughs come by the barrel-full. Whether it comes from the debate on if Bonnaroo should be moved to another planet, or perhaps Jackie singing at the hippies to get the Hell out of his shop, you will be gasping for air almost every track of the album (with the exception of their cover of "Simple Man", which might have been a hit single if they had not ruined it towards the end by reminding us of Lynard Skynard's plane crash). This is possibly the best comedy album to be released in 2008.

Alan Wilkis - Babies Dream Big
John's Rating: 4.5/5 stars
This relatively new artist is proving to be an online sensation. While still a little-known musician and songwriter, Alan Wilkis has managed to get himself a bit of publicity through GOOD Magazine by having a few of his songs placed in their videos. As trivial as that tactic may be, it seems to be effective, as his MySpace friends keep climbing in numbers each day, and no wonder! Alan manages to get some of the lost 80s club techno into today's Pop and R&B mixes, but yet is determined not to define himself into one genre of music. This enigma of a CD will make you get up and dance one minute, and pull at your heartstrings with it's simple, but touching lyrics. If this isn't the album to pull Mr. Wilkis' career out of the dark, I would be quite shocked! |
